Baby Skincare in Indian Weather: A Season-by-Season Guide

BabyProduct Team · 22 Aug 2026

Summer: less is more

Heat rash comes from trapped sweat, not dirt. Loose cotton, a cool bath and light or no lotion beat a heavy cream. Change nappies more often — warmth plus moisture is what causes rashes.

Monsoon: keep skin folds dry

Humidity keeps skin damp in the neck, thighs and armpits. Pat these dry after every bath and after feeds. Choose light, fast-absorbing products over occlusive balms.

Winter: protect the barrier

Dry air pulls moisture out of skin. Shorten baths, use lukewarm rather than hot water, and moisturise while the skin is still slightly damp — that traps the water in.

Always

Patch-test anything new on a small area for a day. Fewer ingredients generally means fewer things to react to. If a rash spreads, weeps or comes with fever, see a paediatrician rather than trying another product.
