Teething: What Helps and What to Skip
BabyProduct Team · 1 Aug 2026
What teething usually looks like
Drooling, chewing on everything, sore gums and general grumpiness. Timing varies enormously — some babies get a tooth at four months, others near their first birthday.
What helps
A chilled (not frozen) teether, gentle gum pressure with a clean finger, and a bib to keep the chin dry and rash-free.
What to skip
Amber necklaces and similar jewellery are a choking and strangulation risk. Avoid unregulated gels.
When to call the doctor
High fever, diarrhoea or being genuinely unwell is not teething. Get those checked rather than waiting them out.
